About SUVLook

When you shop for an SUV, manufacturers love giving you a single, tidy number: cubic feet. You will read that a crossover has “70 cubic feet of cargo room,” but that number is virtually useless when you’re standing in an aisle trying to figure out whether a 48-inch dog crate, an inflated double mattress, or a flat-pack bookcase will actually slide through the hatch.

A tall, narrow vehicle can have the exact same volume on paper as a low, wide one, yet fit completely different cargo. That discrepancy is why we created SUVLook.

What We Do

SUVLook is an independent automotive resource built for drivers, road-trippers, campers, dog owners, and weekend haulers who need honest, physical dimensions. We document:

  • Cargo floor lengths: with second-row seats upright and folded flat.
  • True floor width: specifically the narrowest gap between the wheel housings where wider cargo binds.
  • Trunk opening geometry: bottom width, widest point, and vertical liftover clearance.
  • Sleeping & camping capability: floor flatness, seat fold angles, and practical bed lengths.
  • Real-world fit checks: realistic clearances for bikes, coolers, strollers, and plywood sheets.

Our Editorial Approach

We believe in transparent specifications and clear distinctions. On every vehicle guide we publish:

  • Official specs vs. physical tests: We clearly distinguish between manufacturer-stated technical blueprints and owner-reported tape-measure clearances.
  • Generation awareness: We track dimensions across specific generation redesigns so used-car buyers don’t get misled by newer model specs.
  • No fluff or filler: You won’t find generic marketing hype here—just concise tables, clear diagrams, and practical fit advice.
