For U.S. shoppers; checked September 30, 2026. This guide covers the 2027 gasoline Rogue, not the separate 2027 Rogue Hybrid.

The five gasoline Nissan Rogue trim levels are S, SV, Dark Armor, Rock Creek and Platinum. Start with SV for everyday value. Compare Dark Armor if you want its bundled appearance and comfort features, or Platinum if its cabin technology is on your must-have list. Rock Creek is worth the extra attention when you'll use its outdoor-oriented equipment. Its place in the price list isn't a reason to choose it on its own.

Those are editorial recommendations, not a claim that one grade drives better in a test. Choose the powertrain first, then the grade: a gasoline Rogue specification is not evidence about the new hybrid's equipment or interior.

2027 Rogue trim levels and starting prices

Gasoline grade FWD base MSRP AWD base MSRP
S $29,690 $31,090
SV $30,690 $32,090
Dark Armor $33,540 $34,940
Rock Creek Not offered $34,590
Platinum Not offered $39,790

Nissan lists a further $1,575 destination charge. These are manufacturer base prices, not out-the-door quotes; options, accessories, tax and registration are additional. The complete five-grade lineup and prices come from the 2027 Nissan Rogue press kit. Some views of Nissan's comparison selector show only four grades; that does not erase S from the press-kit lineup.

Compare like-for-like drive systems. A FWD Dark Armor quote and an AWD Rock Creek quote do not isolate the price of the trim upgrade. Ask each dealer to separate base vehicle, factory packages, destination, dealer accessories and fees before deciding that one offer is cheaper.

The cabin differences worth paying attention to

Grade Seating surface in Nissan's comparison Center screen Primary reason to inspect it
SV Premium cloth 8 in Everyday equipment without the flagship cabin price
Dark Armor Prima-Tex 8 in Heated front seats and moonroof in the bundle
Rock Creek Leatherette 8 in Outdoor-oriented specification, AWD
Platinum Quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed 12.3 in Google built-in and upgraded audio

This is a highlights table, not the full standard-equipment list. Check the selected grade and package in Nissan's specifications and trim comparison, and use our Rogue interior guide for the roof, space and color decisions.

Do not treat a larger screen as a larger cabin. Set your preferred driving position before exploring the menus. If the seat does not support your thighs or the steering wheel cannot reach comfortably, a higher-resolution display does not fix the fit. Conversely, if you use navigation frequently, the difference in screen layout may be more meaningful to you than exterior styling.

S versus SV: start here for a restrained budget

S deserves a quote when the purchase ceiling is firm. Its lower base price leaves more room for taxes, insurance, tires and an emergency reserve. That is a budgeting advantage, not proof that it has every feature your household needs.

SV is our default grade to investigate because it sits near the bottom of the price ladder rather than requiring a move straight to the flagship. Write down your non-negotiables before comparing the two: seat adjustment, driver-assistance functions, climate controls, smartphone connection and winter comfort. Ask the dealer to demonstrate them on the actual vehicle, not a more expensive showroom example.

If SV's extras are features you would use daily, the price gap can make sense. If you mainly prefer its badge or appearance, keep S in the running. Neither recommendation substitutes for a local quote; dealer inventory and added accessories can change the effective gap substantially.

Dark Armor versus SV: buy the bundle, not just the look

Dark Armor is most persuasive when you want the cabin equipment in its bundle as well as the appearance. If your shopping list contains only one winter feature, investigate the available SV package before moving up an entire trim.

The moonroof is also a fit decision. A tall driver should compare roof configurations directly rather than assuming the more expensive grade has more head clearance. Our interior guide shows the published roof-related difference, but it cannot predict clearance for your torso length or preferred seat height.

A useful dealership exercise is to sit in SV and Dark Armor back to back with the seat adjusted similarly. Compare upholstery feel, reflections, overhead clearance and control reach. Then decide whether the bundle improves your daily use enough to justify the quote.

Rock Creek: a specialist choice, not a universal upgrade

Rock Creek is an AWD-only alternative. Its appeal should be tied to how you use the vehicle: occasional rough access roads, outdoor trips or equipment you would otherwise have to source separately. It is not the same decision as choosing a more luxurious interior.

The Rock Creek Premium Package is listed at $800 in the press kit. Ask for its itemized contents and confirm which functions are standard versus package-dependent on the vehicle in front of you. A grade name is not enough to establish every comfort feature.

For a mostly urban commute, test whether you actually prefer the outdoor-oriented specification on familiar roads. We have not measured its ride, noise or traction against another Rogue grade, so this guide does not promise that it is better or worse in those areas. Tires, road surface and your own preferences matter.

Platinum: when the cabin is the reason for buying

Platinum is easiest to justify when several cabin upgrades matter together. Buying it for a single feature can be expensive if a lower grade or optional package already meets the rest of your needs.

Evaluate the screen while parked with your own phone paired. Find navigation, audio, camera views and the settings you change frequently. Ask which connected services require an account, data plan or subscription after any included trial. A demonstration using a dealer's active subscription does not tell you the ongoing cost of ownership.

The $990 Platinum Premium Package is separate from the grade's base price. If a rear-seat comfort feature is the reason you want Platinum, have the dealer identify that feature on the window sticker rather than assuming the top badge includes it automatically.

How to make the final trim decision

  1. Confirm gasoline versus hybrid and the model year on the window sticker.
  2. Choose FWD or AWD based on your actual needs, not the trim's position in the list.
  3. Try the front and rear seats with the passengers who will use them.
  4. Separate must-have functions from appearance preferences and subscription-dependent services.
  5. Compare itemized quotes with the same packages and drive system.

If space is still the main concern, start with the Rogue cabin guide. For physical load fit, use the separately scoped Rogue cargo dimensions guide; do not transfer an older measurement to a different model year without checking its evidence. The Fit Finder can help build an alternative shortlist, but its model-year coverage may differ from this 2027 guide.

Frequently asked questions

How many 2027 gasoline Rogue trims are there?

Five: S, SV, Dark Armor, Rock Creek and Platinum. The hybrid is a separate lineup.

Which Rogue trim is the best value?

SV is our starting point for a typical equipment-versus-budget comparison. S can be the better decision under a strict budget, and the right answer depends on your required features and itemized quote.

Is Rock Creek above Platinum?

No. It is a specialist outdoor-oriented branch, while Platinum is the higher-priced cabin-focused grade. They solve different shopping priorities.

Are the listed prices the amount I will pay?

No. Destination, options, tax, registration and dealer-specific charges must be included in the final written quote.

Does this guide cover used Rogue trim levels?

No. It covers the U.S. 2027 gasoline lineup. Older model years can have different grade names, packages and standard equipment.
