For U.S. vehicles; figures from Stellantis North America's media site, checked November 4, 2026. Jeep's own model pages refused automated reading, so this guide relies on Stellantis releases and the Stellantis specification sheet, and says where a figure is missing.
The latest Compass model year Stellantis has published is 2027. Its "What's New" release lists five trims: Latitude, Latitude Altitude, Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk. Every 2027 Compass has the same 2.0-liter turbo engine and four-wheel drive, so the trim choice is mostly about wheels, comfort features and off-road hardware. The release does not give a trim-by-trim equipment list, so some details below come from the 2026 release and are labeled as 2026.
Jeep Compass trims at a glance
| Trim | 2027 details in Stellantis sources | 2026 published price |
|---|---|---|
| Latitude | Base trim; adaptive cruise control standard | $30,990 "(including destination)" |
| Latitude Altitude | Altitude appearance trim; adaptive cruise control standard | $32,985 |
| Limited | Adds wireless charging pad and second-row USB ports as standard | $34,885 |
| Limited Altitude | Same standard items as Limited; "only a $995 premium over the Limited trim" | $36,880 |
| Trailhawk | Trail Rated; Jeep Active Drive Low; wireless charging pad and second-row USB ports standard | $35,390 |
Which model year is covered?
The 2027 Compass release carries no publication date on the page we read, but identifies the 2027 model year, says orders are open, and lists assembly at the Toluca, Mexico plant. The 2026 release is dated November 11, 2025. Keep them apart: a 2026 vehicle should be judged against the 2026 prices and equipment, and the 2027 additions (adaptive cruise control on every trim, second-row USB ports and a wireless charger on Limited and above) are not confirmed for 2026 in the sources we read.
Engine and transmission
All trims use the same powertrain. Stellantis says the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four makes 200 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque and calls both "best-in-class standard" figures. The 2027 specification sheet lists 200 hp at 5,000 rpm and 221 lb-ft from 1,750 to 4,250 rpm, regular 87-octane fuel, and an 8F30 eight-speed automatic. The 2026 release gives the same 200 hp and 221 lb-ft figures for 2026.
The spec sheet lists EPA fuel economy of 21 city, 29 highway and 24 combined mpg for 2027 and describes the engine as using engine stop-start. It also lists the Compass as a transverse front-engine layout, "4x4 only," so there is no front-drive version in this lineup.
Four-wheel-drive systems
Per the 2027 spec sheet, Jeep Active Drive is standard on all models. It is a full-time 4x4 mode with an active on-demand clutch and Auto 4x4 and neutral operating modes. Jeep Active Drive Low is standard on Trailhawk only, with a 20:1 crawl ratio. The Stellantis release adds that Trailhawk has "Trail Rated" capability and a "class-exclusive two-speed PTU."
The sheet also lists a different final drive ratio for Trailhawk (4.398, versus 3.73 on other 4x4 models), a tighter 35.3-foot turning diameter compared with 36.3 feet on other models, and more ground clearance: 8.6 inches on Trailhawk versus 8.1 inches on other 4x4 trims. Approach angle is 30.4 degrees on Trailhawk versus 16.1 degrees on other 4x4 models.
Key features by trim
Stellantis is selective about what it publishes by trim.
- All 2027 trims: adaptive cruise control is standard.
- Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk (2027): a wireless charging pad and second-row USB ports are standard. An optional Premium Lighting Group adds LED headlights, taillights and fog lights, and a Driver Assist Package adds a 360-degree camera and a Universal Garage Door Opener.
- Trailhawk (2026 release, "new for 2026"): remote start, heated steering wheel and seats, an 8-way power driver seat and a windshield wiper de-icer. Whether these carry over unchanged to 2027 is not stated in the 2027 release, so confirm on the vehicle.
- Altitude trims: Stellantis describes the 2026 Latitude Altitude as "a bold black appearance package" and the Limited Altitude as "premium with black appearance." It publishes no full equipment list for them.
Wheels and tires
The 2027 spec sheet lists standard tire sizes, though its availability labels use some older trim names (such as Sport and High Altitude) that do not match the five-trim lineup, so verify wheel size on a specific vehicle. The sizes listed are:
| Tire | Size | Availability as labeled in the sheet |
|---|---|---|
| Firestone Destination LE2, all-season | 225/60R17 | "Sport 4x4 and Latitude 4x4" |
| Continental Pro Contact, all-season | 225/55R18 | "Altitude 4x4, Limited 4x4" |
| Falken Wildpeak AT3W, all-terrain | 215/65R17 | "Trailhawk 4x4" |
| Continental Pro Contact, all-season | 235/45R19 | "High Altitude 4x4 (optional on Limited 4x4)" |
Prices Stellantis has published
For 2027, the release says: "Prices for the 2027 Compass start at $31,985, including a $1,995 destination charge." It says the Limited Altitude is "only a $995 premium over the Limited trim." It gives no other 2027 trim prices, so we do not list them.
For 2026, the release states prices for each trim, but the words "(including destination)" appear only beside the Latitude figure ($30,990). It does not say whether the others include destination, so we do not add or subtract a charge. These are manufacturer figures, not dealer transaction prices, and taxes, fees and options are extra.
Towing
The 2027 spec sheet lists towing of "up to 2,000 lbs. (when properly equipped)." It does not break that out by trim or state braked versus unbraked conditions. The Stellantis releases describe the Compass only as having "unsurpassed standard maximum towing" without a number. Confirm the rating for a specific vehicle in the owner's manual and on the door-jamb label before towing. For other SUVs' published figures, see our SUV towing capacity guide.
Which Compass trim fits which buyer?
These are equipment-based suggestions, not road-test rankings.
- Lowest price: Latitude, which still has the turbo engine, 4x4 and adaptive cruise control for 2027.
- Black styling on a budget: Latitude Altitude, an appearance trim.
- Daily comfort and phone use: Limited, the first trim with a wireless charger and second-row USB ports. Limited Altitude adds black styling for $995 more.
- Rougher roads or snow: Trailhawk, the only trim with Jeep Active Drive Low, all-terrain tires and extra ground clearance.

What Stellantis did not publish
The sources we read give no 2027 prices beyond the starting price and Limited Altitude premium, no standard equipment list by trim, and no towing split. Jeep.com refused automated reading. Ask the dealer for the window sticker, and check whether a quoted price includes destination.
